Finally TV series are betting on female casts to attract viewers. This is the case of Lifetime’s Devious Maids, the fastest-growing scripted series ever and the number one series across cable in its Sunday time period among women. Produced by Eva Longoria, the show tells the story of five beautiful and ambitious housemaids of Beverly Hills’ rich and famous. But sometimes, those characters need a sexy man to bring on the drama and at the same time, give viewers some eye candy. Enter Dominic Adams.

Half Persian and half British, Adams plays Tony Bishara in the second season of Devious Maids, a handsome and intelligent security expert with shadowy links to Mossad. Dominic’s previous credits include a strong supporting role in the biographical film, Telstar: The Joe Meek Story, starring Kevin Spacey. He has also had guest-star roles on the TV series “Romancing the Joan” and “Futurestates.” This is his break-through role in American television and with his charm, talent and sexy looks, he is here to stay.

Entertainment Affair: It is known that Eva Longoria had her directorial debut with the season premiere episode. How was that experience like?
Dominic Adams: Eva is an absolute doll. She is lovely. It was great to work with her. She is incredibly grounded, which is always pleasant. That was the first thing that struck me and then she worked her tail off. Directing is very difficult, you have to be connected, you can’t really slack. I was so impressed by her dedication, hard work and ability. Lovely experience.

EA: Working with so many feisty Latin women. How was the dynamic on set?
DA: I always have had a soft spot for Latinas. They were very gracious. The set felt like your first day at school. You are wondering how you are going to be received, if they are going to like you or if you are going to be an outsider. Everyone was lovely. All of them have been great. Very sweet women.

EA: What did you learn about Latinos?
DA: I love their spice. I love passion and fire, that reminds me of myself. I am half Persian, that means I am very passionate. I like that in other individuals, specially in women. I knew what to expect from the Latinas.

EA: In the beginning the show was highly criticized by many professional Latin women. Do you, as a non-Latino man, think that portraying Latin women as maids is a good image of our culture?
DA: Do we think of ourselves defined by our job? I know that I don’t. I always love to act, but Dominic is not defined by what he does for a living. It's the same here. These women are multi dimensional characters, they have opinions, they have drive, they have families. It is not so much about what they do for a living. They hold a mirror to the people they work for. It is more about highlighting craziness and ridiculousness among the people who have maybe too much money.

Get ready for the deliciously dirty Season 2 of Devious Maids premiering Sunday, April 20 at 10/9c on Lifetime.
