Fans at WonderCon 2016 in Los Angeles, the sister of fab San Diego ComicCon convention, got an early look at the big-screen animated adaption of the videogame series "Ratchet & Clank." It's been three years in the making but next month Insomniac Games in conjunction with Gramercy Pictures will finally release the film. Since the animated movie was first announced, we've seen a trailer or two. At WonderCon, we got to see four new clips from the film by writer-director Kevin Munroe (writer-director of 2007's TMNT). Munroe introduced the first clip as Ratchet (voiced by James Arnold Taylor) met Clank (David Kaye) for the very first time.

The film comes to life with the original video game voices of James Arnold Taylor and David Kaye playing their respective titular roles. The scene opens on a crash site as Ratchet, a "Lombax" mechanic cat, rescues Clank from his destroyed ship before it explodes. Upon reactivating, Clank, a semi-defective robot, begins saying, "An army is coming -- I must warn them." Ratchet offers to repair the little robot but doesn't know what to call him. "Maybe I'll just call you Clank," he says after his clanking walk gives him the idea.

The second clip features Ratchet in training via montage. Here, Captain Qwark (Jim Ward) assigns Ratchet to test out his new Protosuit as well as a bunch of different weapons from the games including the Combuster, the Negotiator, the Warmonger, the Spiral of Death and others -- all with comedic results. Munroe shared with the fans that while not every single weapon from the games makes an appearance, most of them do.

The third clip gave fans a better look at the super hard-core galactic ranger Cora Veralux, voiced by Bella Thorne. The scene finds her with Ratchet and Clank armed to the teeth and making their way down a dimly lit corridor on a mission. The image then cuts to a control room with Chairman Drek (Paul Giamatti) and one of his henchman shouting "Initiate Phase One!" Thorne shared with the audience how much she loved to finally use her deep male-ish voice for the character as she needed to portray a tough bad-ass female and also shared how much she loves cats. Bella took a selfie with her fans for her week-long Entertainment Weekly social media takeover.

The fourth and final clip showed by Munroe, is when Ratchet and Clank are still getting the hang of working together. The scene finds the dynamic duo flying through a city in a spaceship. Clank pilots but not very well in which he points out, "My piloting skills shall we say... are slightly underdeveloped" after crashing through a billboard. Ratchet takes the controls and reverses the ship's momentum just before it can crash and squish a green alien civilian.

The amazing voice cast also includes Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Rosario Dawson, Jim Ward and Sylvester Stallone.

Ratchet & Clank hits theaters April 29th!
