STARZ Hosts Star-Studded World Premiere of “Vida” at SXSW

by EAStaff | March 11, 2018

On Sunday, March 11th, STARZ debuted new original Latinx series “Vida” to a jam-packed Vimeo theater with a world premiere screening of the first two episodes and Q&A with the cast and executive producer Tanya Saracho (“Looking, “Girls”). “Vida” was chosen as an Official Episodic Selection at this year’s SXSW festival. The series premieres on STARZ on Sunday, May 6th.

"Vida" is a half-hour series focusing on two Mexican-American sisters from the Eastside of Los Angeles who couldn't be more different or distanced from each other. Circumstances force them to return to their old neighborhood, where they are confronted by the past and surprising truth about their mother's identity.

The world premiere concluded a weekend of celebrations as the cast and crew of “Vida” hosted a “Sip and See” cocktail party at the STARZ Sensory House on Saturday, March 10th. Guests enjoyed an exclusive happy hour with curated cocktails, custom perfumes, wine tasting and other activities celebrating the STARZ original series. Executive Producer Tanya Saracho attended as well as cast including Melissa Barrera, Mishel Prada, Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda, and Maria Elena Laas.
