2011 Latin Grammy Nominee, Cristian Castro has debuted in the #1 position in the United States, Mexico and Central America with his new album, Mi Amigo El Principe. As the follow-up to his 2010 tribute album to legendary icon, Jose Jose, this album is quickly becoming one of the most critically acclaimed releases of the year. The album is comprised of some of Jose Jose's greatest hits, reinterpreted under the production of legendary Spanish producer, Rafael Perez-Botija.

Castro's 2010 release, "Viva El Principe" the first installment of his tribute to his musical father quickly garnered acclaim as one of the most influential albums of our decade, selling more than 800,000 copies worldwide. The album earned him a 2011 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Album.

Castro is currently in Las Vegas in preparations for the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards. In addition to being a nominee at this year's awards, Cristian was also asked by the academy to perform during the show. Prior to Thursday's live telecast of the Awards, Cristian will be paying tribute to Shakira at the Acadamy's Person of The Year Dinner as well as performing an AC/DC classic at the BMI event Wednesday night.
