Elvis Crespo Combines Merengue With Vallenato

by EAStaff | November 26, 2011

The king of tropical music, Elvis Crespo, surprises with his new single "Vallenato en Karaoke", a song he recorded in three versions; merengue, vallenato and urban for everyone to sing and dance to.

The artist, who is known as one of the most successful exponents of merengue and has won over numerous stages around the world with his hits "Píntame" and "Suavemente", proposes a new combination of merengue and vallenato, which resulted into an explosive song called "Vallenato en Karaoke" the first single from the album titled "the Monsters" which will be released the first quarter of 2012.

Elvis invited Colombian group Los del Puente to collaborate on this song, convinced that these young people gave the perfect touch of new rhythms to this song he produced with the group.

"The three months I was on tour in Ecuador I had time to start the creative process of my new cd and this was one of the songs that I recorded with my colleagues from the group Los del Puente. The holiday season is a time of joy, to bring music to dance alone or accompanied and that is our purpose, "said Elvis Crespo, who wrote the lyrics and the theme music already heard on national radio.

The video for "Vallenato in Karaoke" featuring a party was shot in Ecuador at nightclub Mumbay under the direction of Julian Pico in a production where about 120 people took part, including musicians, dancers, extras and technicians. The video can be seen through the main video channels in Puerto Rico, the U.S. and Latin America.

Elvis will be in Puerto Rico the first week of December to perform at various events and meet commitments to promote on various media outlets.
