Univision’s “¡Mira Quién Baila!” Grand Finale Reached 9.2 Million Viewers

Last night’s three-hour grand finale of Univision’s hit reality dance competition “¡Mira Quién Baila!” (Look Who’s Dancing!) reached 9.2 million viewers who watched some or all of the broadcast. Attracting an average audience of nearly 5 million Total Viewers 2+, 2.5 million Adults 18-49, 1.4 million Women 18-49, 1.1 million Men 18-49 and 1.3 million Adults 18-34, the highly-anticipated conclusion to the show’s dramatic second season was the highest-rated telecast in the program’s full run. The grand finale of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” helped Univision take the No. 4 spot during the highly competitive Sunday 8-11 p.m. time period, beating CBS among Adults 18-34.

“We could not be prouder to bring our audience such an impressive lineup of performances in last night’s emotional season finale of ‘¡Mira Quién Baila!’ said Cesar Conde, president of Univision Networks. “The season showed strong growth from last year, while also continuing to provide a spectacular family-friendly entertainment experience for Hispanics.”

The three-hour finale also increased its audience in the last hour compared to the first hour by double-digit margins among all Viewers 2+ (up 24%), Adults 18-49 (up 34%), Women 18-49 (up 41%), Men 18-49 (up 26%) and Adults 18-34 (up 35%).

Based on its full run, the second season of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” out-performed last season’s performance among Total Viewers 2+ (up 3%), Adults 18-49 (up 3%), Women 18-49 (up 7%) and Adults 18-34 (up 8%). Additionally, it is currently the highest-ranked Univision-produced reality show in the network’s history among Total Viewers 2+.

Driving unprecedented engagement from viewers across the nation, the full season of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” generated a record-breaking 15 million votes from viewers who called or texted in support of their favorite contestant, up 7% from last season’s votes.

“¡Mira Quién Baila!” came to a heart-stopping conclusion last night asactress Adamari Lopez was crowned champion of season two of the Univision Network reality dance competition. Singer Priscila Angel took second place and TV icon Erik Estrada came in third. The three-hour finale also featured a musical performance by singer Paulina Rubio, a special appearance from singer Pablo Montero and a spectacular opening dance where previous contestants Stephanie Salas, Geraldine Bazan, Blue Demon Jr., Alejandro Chaban, Cristian Zuarez, Jose Manuel Figueroa and Elizabeth Gutierrez where joined by glow dancers “Illuminate.”

Erik Estrada, Adamari Lopez and Priscila Angel pulled out all the stops in the exciting season finale of the hit series, but it was Adamari’s steamy tango that stole the show and won over 2.5 million votes from viewers. Adamari was presented with the $50,000 grand prize for her charity Susan G. Komen.

“Words truly cannot express what this means to me,” said Adamari Lopez, ¡Mira Quién Baila! second season winner. “I am thrilled and want to dedicate this victory to all cancer survivors and those who have passed away; they have been my inspiration. I am thankful to Univision and Endemol, and to all those who supported me throughout this amazing competition. Together we have not only provided great entertainment but have contributed to a great cause.”

Adamari Lopez joins last year’s winner actor Vadhir Derbez as the second season champion of “¡Mira Quien Baila!” The ASPIRA Association was the proud recipient of last year’s grand prize secured by Vadhir.

Season two of “¡Mira Quién Baila!” produced by Univision Studios and Endemol, featured celebrities Erik Estrada, Adamari Lopez, Priscila Angel, Stephanie Salas, Geraldine Bazan, Blue Demon Jr., Alejandro Chaban, Cristian Zuarez, Jose Manuel Figueroa and Elizabeth Gutierrez. Hosted by Javier Poza and Chiquinquira Delgado, the series followed celebrities as they competed for the $50,000 grand prize for their charity of choice. The show also featured choreographer Javier “Poty” Castillo as well as Lili Estefan (host of “El Gordo y La Flaca”), Bianca Marroquin (actress and “Pequeños Gigantes” judge) and Horacio Villalobos (actor and TV host) as celebrity judges.
