by EAStaff | December 6, 2011

After conquering Mexico with their "Sinister pop" style and receiving two Latin Grammy nominations in 2010, Jotdog, the duo formed by María Barracuda and Jorge Chiquis Amaro, release today in the U.S. "Lluvia de Estrellas", first single from their forthcoming sophomore album Jotdog 2: Turista del Amor.

With this single, María Barracuda and Chiquis Amaro kick off a new phase in which their sound and theme of their creations rise towards excellence. What started as a musical experiment is today a project filled with ideas and concrete plans, looking to conquer new markets like the United States and Latin America.

"Lluvia de Estrellas" is a part the new musical adventure where the evolution is evident in each of the songs that makeup this album. María Barracuda takes us by the hand to a unique magical world through her song-writing, while Jorge Chiquis Amaro, in his role as performer and producer, is responsible for creating the ideal musical atmosphere.

Jotdog continues with their adventure that conquered the public in 2009 with the release of their first self-titled album, Jotdog, which included the hits, "Hasta Contar a Mil", "Resistir" and "Las Pequeñas Cosas" which reached top of the charts in radio in Mexico.

The group garnished a variety of awards with their debut album including, Best New Artist at Premios Oye! 2010; and nabbed two Latin Grammy nominations for the categories, Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album Duo or Group at the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards.

The new album Jotdog 2: Turista del Amor will be available in the U.S. in January 2012.
