Maria Nelson Confirmed as Casting Director for "La Sirena de Barro"

Veteran Production Company, Alta Vista Films announced today that Maria Nelson, the casting director responsible for the casting in the acclaimed feature film and Sundance winner “Real Women Have Curves”, will be in charge of casting the big screen adaptation of the SOGEM winning script “La Sirena de Barro”.

“I’m very happy to join the talented group of individuals responsible for taking “La Sirena de Barro” to the screen.  This film is a great one and has the roots of a quality project and the wings to honor its author (Argüelles)” said Nelson.  As a Casting Director I’m very interested in returning to Mexico where I previously casted "Real Women Have Curves".  This film has the potential to cross-borders and I’m looking forward to completing the casting this 2012.” She concluded.

The legendary Hugo Argüelles best known as the Tennessee Williams of Mexico wrote “La Sirena de Barro”.  The screen adaptation is being helmed by director Claudio Dabed (“Pretendiendo”) and the film its currently in its pre-production stage.

Alta Vista Films has been producing commercials for over 20 years and selected the script to transition the production company into film territory.
