After a year and a half of amazing accomplishments for Prince Royce, the multiplatinum singer-songwriter has just received five Premio Lo Nuestro 2012 nominations. The news came on the same day of his first visit to Chile, where he is set to perform this weekend in the important “La Teletón de Chile” which benefits children and youths with developmental disabilities.

Royce has taken over Chilean airwaves this year with four of his singles including “Corazón Sin Cara” which topped the charts as the #1 song in the country for 14 weeks, was received by crowds never before seen by a new artist visiting Chile. At a visit to Chilevision Studios for a live performance on TV show Yingo, ratings soared and more than 200 fans waited outside the channel hoping for a glimpse of their young idol. 

Besides his performance on “La Teletón” this Saturday night, Chilean fans will be able to get close to Prince Royce on Sunday at his in-store signing event at the Florida Center Mall in Santiago. The artist is already confirmed to perform at the prestigious 2012 Viña del Mar Festival which takes place in February 2012.

“I have been extremely surprised with the amazing reception the fans in Chile have given me, from the ones who were at the airport early in the morning to those that went to Chilevision at night,” expressed Royce, adding “This surprising day became even more special, upon learning that I am nominated for several Premio Lo Nuestro awards, something which is totally unexpected. .  . all I can say is that my fans are the greatest, I appreciate and thank you from the bottom of my heart!”

Royce is nominated for 2012 Premio Lo Nuestro awards in the following categories:

Male Tropical Artist of the Year
Male Tradicional Tropical Artist of the Year
Tropical Song of the Year for “El Amor Que Perdimos”
Collaboration of the Year for “Ven Conmigo” with Daddy Yankee
Urban Song of the Year for “Ven Conmigo” with Daddy Yankee
