Univision Network to broadcast exclusive interview with Shakira, one of Colombia’s hottest crossover performing artists, during the one-hour “Aqui y Ahora” (Here and Now) special – “Shakira: A Su Propio Ritmo” (Shakira… To Her Own Beat). In a tell-all interview premiering December 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT (9 p.m. CT), Shakira reveals to award-winning journalist and co-host of the program María Elena Salinas, how her celebrity stature and media attention has affected her personal and professional life.

Shakira reveals how becoming an international icon has empowered her to confront world leaders about social issues and she also responds to rumors concerning personal romances including her relationship with highly lauded FC Barcelona defender, Gerard Piqué and previous boyfriend Antonio de la Rúa, son of former Argentine president. She also responds to allegations that she plagiarized the song “Waka, Waka” which became a worldwide hit and the official song of the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.
