Arturo Castro Brings Heart and Humor Into the Digital World of ‘Tron: Ares’

As the digital and real worlds collide in Tron: Ares, Disney’s highly anticipated continuation of the groundbreaking sci-fi franchise, actor Arturo Castro brings a spark of humanity—and his signature charm—to the electrifying new story. The Guatemalan-born actor, known for his roles in The Menu and Road House, joins an all-star cast that includes Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and Jeff Bridges. Castro plays Seth, a brilliant and loyal colleague to Lee’s Eve Kim, the ENCOM CEO who becomes an unlikely ally to the digital being Ares (Leto).

Sitting down with Entertainment Affair’s Melissa Ramiz, Castro shared his excitement about stepping into the iconic world of Tron—a dream come true for a longtime fan. “I’ve admired this universe for so many years,” he said with a smile. “Filming it felt like going to Disneyland every day. The sets were so massive and detailed that you couldn’t believe they weren’t going to live forever. They should’ve been in a museum.”

Despite the film’s high-tech atmosphere, Castro’s experience on set was grounded in connection and camaraderie. He recalled spending much of his time with co-star Greta Lee, with whom he developed a genuine friendship. “We had dinners, grabbed drinks, and even went to a TED conference together in Vancouver,” he shared. “Some of my fondest memories are just us sitting there, realizing, ‘Whoa, we’re in Tron!’”

When asked about his early inspirations, Castro lit up mentioning Robin Williams, citing Hook as a film that changed the way he viewed storytelling. “Robin could make you laugh one minute and break your heart the next,” he reflected. “That balance of comedy and truth really shaped how I see acting.”

The conversation also turned heartfelt—and funny—when discussing what’s next for the actor. “I’d love to do a full-on drama with no smiles, or even a horror movie,” he said, laughing. “I’m terrified of ghosts. If my foot sticks out of the blanket, I’m convinced that’s it—the chupacabras are coming. So maybe it’s time to cause that trauma for other people!”

Castro, who proudly represents the Latino community in Hollywood, spoke about how much has changed since he began his career. “When I started, there weren’t roles like this for Latinos,” he explained. “In Tron: Ares, I just get to be a person with his own quirks and dreams who happens to be Latino. That’s the best kind of representation—normalizing it.”

As for why audiences shouldn’t miss Tron: Ares, Castro’s enthusiasm was contagious. “It’s a full sensory experience—the visuals, the music, the emotion between the characters—it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” he said. “See it on the biggest screen with the best sound possible. It’s going to blow your mind.”

Tron: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning and featuring an original score by Nine Inch Nails, opens in U.S. theaters on October 10, 2025.
