Scream Legends Reunite in Blumhouse’s ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’

by EAStaff | November 26, 2025

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is ready to unleash a new wave of animatronic terror, and the latest featurette, “Scream Kings,” brings together two icons who know their way around horror mayhem: Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich. In the video, the cast can’t help but geek out over the unlikely reunion, with Mckenna Grace laughing about how wild it is to have “Matt Lillard and Skeet Ulrich from Scream in a movie together,” calling the pairing “bonkers” in the best way. Their energy sets the tone for a sequel that’s bigger, darker, and even more twisted than before.

Set one year after the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the film picks up as the truth about what happened has morphed into a kitschy piece of local folklore. The town’s first-ever Fazfest leans into the legend, but for Mike (Josh Hutcherson), Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail), and Abby (Piper Rubio), the danger is far from over. When Abby sneaks away to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, she unknowingly sparks a terrifying chain of events that exposes the true origins of Freddy’s—and awakens something long buried.

Matthew Lillard returns as William Afton with his trademark intensity, joined once again by Theodus Crane. The sequel also introduces Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and horror veteran Skeet Ulrich, whose presence alongside Lillard brings a nostalgic thrill. Lillard describes the reunion as feeling “a little like summer camp,” while Ulrich admits his co-star’s enthusiasm for the franchise is “pretty infectious,” making their dynamic one of the film’s strongest draws.

Directed once again by Emma Tammi and written by game creator Scott Cawthon, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 builds on Blumhouse’s record-shattering first installment, which opened to $80 million and terrified its way to nearly $300 million globally. With a cast of returning favorites, new faces, and a fresh mystery steeped in decades-old horrors, the sequel promises another adrenaline-fueled ride for fans of the franchise.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 screams into theaters December 5. Get ready.
