Nicholas Galitzine Becomes He-Man in First ‘Masters of the Universe’ Trailer
The power of Grayskull is officially back. The first trailer for Masters of the Universe has arrived, giving fans their first epic look at the long-awaited live-action reimagining of the iconic Mattel franchise. The film, from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios, will hit theaters in the U.S. on June 5, 2026, with international distribution handled by Sony Pictures International Releasing.
Directed by Travis Knight, the sci-fi action adventure promises a bold cinematic revival of the legendary universe that defined a generation.
The story centers on Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, who has been separated from Eternia for 15 years. When the mystical Sword of Power calls him home, he discovers his world devastated under the ruthless rule of Skeletor, portrayed by Jared Leto. To restore balance and protect his family, Adam must reunite with warrior Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and finally embrace his destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
The ensemble cast also features Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Charlotte Riley, and includes Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.
The trailer teases sweeping fantasy landscapes, large-scale battle sequences, and a darker, more emotionally grounded take on Adam’s journey. There’s a clear emphasis on legacy, identity, and destiny — themes that feel especially timely as this beloved property enters a new cinematic era.
With nostalgia running high and a powerhouse cast leading the charge, Masters of the Universe is shaping up to be one of summer 2026’s biggest theatrical events.
By the power of Grayskull, we’ll see you at the movies.
