‘The Bride!’ Trailer Unveils a Radical New Take on the Classic Monster Myth

by EAStaff | January 15, 2026

Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled the full trailer for The Bride!, a bold, genre-bending reimagining of Bride of Frankenstein from writer-director Maggie Gyllenhaal. Starring Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, the film injects punk-rock energy, obsession, and cultural rebellion into a classic monster myth—set against the grit of 1930s Chicago.

The trailer teases a lonely Frankenstein (Bale) who seeks help from the brilliant Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion. When a murdered young woman is resurrected, The Bride (Buckley) is born—and everything spirals into chaos. What follows is a feverish mix of murder, possession, outlaw romance, and the spark of a wild, radical movement that refuses to be contained.

Buckley’s Bride is electric and defiant, while Bale’s Frankenstein carries aching vulnerability. The cast also includes Peter Sarsgaard, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. Behind the camera, Gyllenhaal is joined by an A-list creative team: cinematographer Lawrence Sher, production designer Karen Murphy, editor Dylan Tichenor, composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, music supervisor Randall Poster, and costume designer Sandy Powell.

The Bride! opens only in theaters and IMAX on March 6, 2026 (internationally beginning March 4). Watch the trailer and brace for a monster movie that tears down tradition and builds something ferociously new.
