“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” Opens This Summer at Universal Studios Hollywood

by EAStaff | February 17, 2026

It’s official: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, the first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood, will open this summer — and anticipation is already building.

The announcement arrives alongside a nationwide media campaign anchored by a dynamic :30 second spot narrated by franchise producer and star Vin Diesel. The high-energy commercial will air during major sporting events including the Winter Olympics, Super Bowl LX and NBA All-Star Game on NBC and Peacock, accelerating excitement for the ride’s summer debut.

Designed to immerse guests in Universal Pictures’ adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious universe, the coaster introduces innovative 360-degree rotation technology that simulates the seamless sensation of drifting cars. Riders will spin at speeds up to 72 MPH across 4,100 feet of aerial track — nearly 12 football fields — soaring above sections of the park, including the multi-level Starway escalator connecting the Upper and Lower Lots.

Located on the Upper Lot within a red brick, garage-inspired structure, Hollywood Drift represents the latest evolution in thrill innovation from Universal Destinations & Experiences. Its launch also aligns with the 25th anniversary celebration of the blockbuster franchise, leading up to the final theatrical chapter, Fast Forever, set for release on March 17, 2028.

When it opens, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will join the park’s lineup of immersive attractions, further cementing Universal Studios Hollywood as a must-visit destination for blockbuster entertainment and next-level thrills.
