‘Toy Story 5’ Debuts First Trailer as Woody and Buzz Face a Tech Takeover
The toys are back — and this time, they’re facing their most modern challenge yet.
Disney and Pixar have debuted the first trailer for Toy Story 5, set to release exclusively in theaters on June 19, 2026. The new chapter finds Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of Bonnie’s beloved crew confronting a sleek new threat to playtime: a tablet device named Lilypad.
Voiced by Greta Lee, Lilypad arrives with bold ideas about what’s best for Bonnie, forcing the toys to compete with technology for her attention. The trailer also teases the long-awaited reunion between Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), following Woody’s emotional departure at the end of Toy Story 4.
New voice cast members include Craig Robinson, Shelby Rabara, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Matty Matheson, joining returning favorites like Joan Cusack, Annie Potts, Wallace Shawn, Kristen Schaal, Keanu Reeves, and Tony Hale.
Directed by Oscar® winner Andrew Stanton and featuring a returning score by Randy Newman, Toy Story 5 continues a franchise that has earned more than $3.3 billion worldwide.
As the trailer reminds us: times may change — but friends are forever.
Toy Story 5 opens in theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
