‘Blade Runner 2099’ Enters a New Era with Michelle Yeoh & Hunter Schafer
The world of Blade Runner is entering a new era. Prime Video unveiled a new trailer for Blade Runner 2099 during New York Comic Con, offering fans a deeper look at the next chapter of the iconic science fiction franchise.
Starring Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, the eight-episode limited series premieres November 25, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
Set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, the series introduces a Los Angeles transformed by a new world order. Humanity is no longer in control, and the line between humans and Replicants has become more complicated than ever.

At the center of the story is Cora (Schafer), a fugitive desperate to escape her past who assumes one final identity: a Blade Runner. Her journey forces her into an unlikely partnership with Olwen (Yeoh), a Replicant with only days left to live. Together, they pursue a mysterious runaway carrying a secret powerful enough to threaten the city's fragile existence.
The new trailer offers a striking glimpse into this futuristic world, filled with atmospheric cityscapes, intense action, and the philosophical questions that have defined the franchise for decades. This time, however, the balance of power has shifted, raising new questions about survival, identity, and what it truly means to be human.
Joining Yeoh and Schafer are Dimitri Abold (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) and Lewis Gribben (Somewhere Boy). The ensemble also features Matthew Needham (House of the Dragon), Sheila Atim (The Woman King), Tom Burke (Furiosa), Katelyn Rose Downey (The Nun II), and Maurizio Lombardi (Ripley), among others.

Building on the legacy of Ridley Scott's 1982 classic and Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed Blade Runner 2049, the upcoming series explores familiar themes of humanity and artificial life from an entirely new perspective.
With its impressive cast, visually ambitious setting, and a story that pushes the franchise further into the future, Blade Runner 2099 is shaping up to be one of Prime Video's most intriguing sci-fi releases of the year.
All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 premiere November 25, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
