‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Stars Tease Wild Twists and Dexter’s Reckless Side
Dexter Morgan may be getting older, but his dangerous instincts aren't going anywhere. As Dexter: Resurrection prepares to return for its second season, the notorious vigilante finds himself navigating unexpected relationships, familiar faces, and a midlife crisis that could push him further than ever before.
Ahead of the October 30 premiere on Paramount+, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar sat down with Dulce Osuna to discuss their characters' evolving relationships with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and the surprises awaiting fans.
For Mwine, who plays Blessing Kamara, the new season promises unexpected developments.
"Blessing continues to be a blessing in many ways," Mwine shared, teasing twists that will surprise both audiences and Dexter himself.

Remar, who portrays Dexter's adoptive father Harry Morgan, highlighted the fascinating contrast between Blessing and Dexter. Both characters experienced childhood trauma, but their lives took dramatically different directions.
Blessing, a former child soldier, grew into a warm, welcoming, and trusting person, while Dexter followed a much darker path.
"He turns into the warmest guy," Remar explained, emphasizing the contrast between Blessing's kindness and Dexter's troubled nature.
That difference becomes especially compelling because Blessing sees something in Dexter that others might overlook.
"I think he sees the best in him," Mwine shared. "And that's what's so scary," explaining that audiences know there's another side to Dexter that Blessing has yet to discover.

Meanwhile, Desmond Harrington returns as Joey Quinn, bringing a familiar face from the original Dexter series into the New York setting.
Reflecting on Quinn's complicated history with Dexter, Harrington recalled how many of his character's suspicions had faded by the end of the original series, particularly after Dexter helped him avoid serious trouble by making incriminating blood evidence disappear.
Harrington also pointed to their contrasting personalities, describing Quinn as volatile while Dexter remains more stoic and thoughtful.
For Remar, Dexter's biggest challenge this season may be his own growing recklessness.
Asked what Harry failed to teach Dexter, the actor suggested that the problem isn't necessarily a failure of Harry's code, but Dexter's willingness to bend its rules.

"Enough of the code is there" to serve as a guardrail, Remar explained, noting that Harry's influence continues to guide Dexter even when his impulsive decisions threaten to lead him astray.
According to Remar, Dexter recognizes that some of his increasingly reckless behavior stems from his midlife crisis. Although the fundamentals of Harry's code remain intact, Dexter is beginning to test its boundaries.
When asked to describe the upcoming season in just one word, the actors offered three fitting responses: Mwine chose "thrilling," Harrington went with "exciting," and Remar described it as "evolving."
With familiar characters returning, unexpected connections, and Dexter increasingly willing to bend the rules that have kept him alive, Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 promises another unpredictable chapter in the franchise.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premieres Friday, October 30, exclusively on Paramount+ Premium.
