‘Frankenstein’ World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival
Frankenstein, the highly anticipated new film from Academy Award®–winning director Guillermo del Toro, made its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
Walking the red carpet were del Toro alongside stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Felix Kammerer, and Christian Convery. They were joined by Composer Alexandre Desplat, Cinematographer Dan Laustsen, Visual Effects Supervisor Dennis Berardi, Editor Evan Schiff, and Producers J. Miles Dale and Scott Stuber.
Del Toro reimagines Mary Shelley’s timeless tale, bringing his signature gothic vision to the story of Victor Frankenstein—a brilliant but arrogant scientist whose creation of life leads to a harrowing downfall for both himself and his tragic Creature.
Frankenstein opens in select theaters on October 17, 2025, and premieres globally on Netflix November 7, 2025.
