Twenty years after V first called audiences to remember the fifth of November, V for Vendetta is heading back to the big screen.

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Saga Arts and Fathom Entertainment are bringing the 2006 dystopian thriller back to theaters nationwide for two special screenings on November 1 and November 5, 2026, celebrating the film’s 20th anniversary. Tickets are now on sale.

Directed by James McTeigue and written and produced by the Wachowskis, V for Vendetta stars Natalie Portman as Evey, a young woman living under an authoritarian regime in a near-future Britain. Her life changes after she encounters V (Hugo Weaving), a mysterious masked revolutionary whose campaign against the government sets a larger uprising in motion.

Based on the DC Vertigo graphic novel illustrated by David Lloyd, the film has remained part of the cultural conversation in the two decades since its release, with its Guy Fawkes imagery and exploration of freedom, identity, fear and resistance becoming closely associated with its legacy.

To mark the anniversary, a new trailer invites moviegoers to “Stand With V” and experience the film once again on the big screen. The trailer also introduces a new anniversary-inspired interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture by Jonathan Snipes of the experimental hip-hop group clipping.

The theatrical event will include something fans haven’t seen before. Ahead of the film, audiences will experience Freedom Forever, an exclusive new featurette featuring McTeigue as he looks back at the films and art that influenced V for Vendetta, the mythology surrounding V and the themes that have helped the film endure for 20 years.

The film also stars Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry and John Hurt, with an original score by Dario Marianelli.
