On a Saturday morning, voices, writers and animators gathered to talk about one very interesting subject: “Where do babies come from?” For some, the tale of the stork may still be convincing and for others the myth sounds better than the alternative. The reality is Storks did stop delivering babies, but all of that is about to change. A new family animated film is coming to theaters this September and just before its release, the stars sat down during a press conference and Entertainment Affair was there to gather the highlights on what to expect from this modern day animation, Storks.

The cast and filmmakers say you’re welcome. For the next few years parents have a go-to film that breaks it down for the kids. Producer Brad Lewis said, This is sort of the great metaphor for not talking to your kids about where babies come from In its own way its an allegorical tale that I think translates well to any culture because its a universal condition: Lets not tell our kids about that.’” On a more serious note, writer/director Nicholas Stoller admitted his choice on choosing a female character was simple, I have two daughters. Be advised ninja skills are included.

What attracted the actors to join this project? Kelsey Grammer said, For me was celebrating babies. Celebrating lives. Grammer plays a very disciplined boss by the name of Hunter. Andy Samberg, who plays Junior added humorously, I always say like, you gotta find your flock and I met with Nick and said I think we are on the same page here.’” Katie Crown pointed out the different types of families in the film. The theme of family obviously is very big in our film, she said. Samberg added, Yea, its really sweet. Katie Crown plays Tulip, a comical and determined female character. Stephen Kramer Glickman, who plays Pigeon Toady (a character who is an adversary but in an unforgettable way) told us he found the film very solid and while it definitely is about family, it’s also about belonging. I felt like from the start that it was just a solid film about people, family and also that mix between work and home and trying to figure out how you belong in this world. He expressed the film is very heartwarming.

This animated adventure not only brings forth emotions of laughter and warmth but also includes some action packed scenes. Some of them, led by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who play Alpha Wolf and Beta Wolf. The cast also includes Ty Burrell as Mr. Gardner, Jennifer Aniston as Mrs. Gardner, Anton Starkman as Nate, and Danny Trejo as Jasper.

Storks makes its debut on the big screen September 23.
