Middle-earth returned to Hall H in spectacular fashion as Prime Video brought The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power back to San Diego Comic-Con, treating more than 6,500 fans to an exciting first look at the series' highly anticipated third season. Alongside an action-packed new teaser trailer, the panel featured major casting announcements, new character debuts, an unforgettable surprise appearance by Sauron's newest servants, and confirmation that Season 3 will premiere on November 11, 2026.

Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay were joined on stage by cast members Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, and newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower for a lively discussion moderated by series star Benjamin Walker, who portrays High King Gil-galad.

The presentation's biggest attraction was the debut of the first teaser trailer for Season 3, offering fans a darker and more ominous glimpse into Middle-earth. Set five years after the fall of Eregion, the new season finds Sauron's influence spreading across the land as his armies wage war while he begins forging the One Ring within the newly completed tower of Barad-dûr. The footage teased massive battles, uneasy alliances, and the growing threat facing every kingdom that still stands against the Dark Lord.

The panel also confirmed several long-awaited character details for the upcoming season. Eddie Marsan will portray Thrain, the older brother of King Durin IV, while Andrew Richardson joins the series as Anárion, Elendil's younger son and brother to Isildur. Adam Young was introduced as Marnûkh, a mysterious Orc whose true loyalties remain unclear. They join previously announced newcomers Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn, Galadriel's long-lost husband, and Zubin Varla as Khamûl the Easterling.

One of Hall H's loudest reactions came during a behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing the incredible creature work for Season 3. Along with a first look at Fell-beasts, Mûmakil, and returning Orcs, the presentation confirmed that the iconic Balrog will speak for the first time in the series—and that acclaimed actor Simon Pegg will provide the creature's voice.

Just when it seemed the presentation was winding down, Hall H was interrupted by four imposing Nazgnagôl, armored ring-servants awaiting Sauron's command. Their surprise appearance transformed the presentation into an immersive live experience and offered fans their first look at these terrifying Second Age servants who predate the Nazgûl known from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Season 3 raises the stakes dramatically as Middle-earth edges closer to total war. With Khazad-dûm sealed behind its mountain gates, Lindon and Rivendell standing as the final strongholds of resistance, and Sauron's power continuing to grow, the Free Peoples must unite in a desperate effort to prevent the Dark Lord from completing the One Ring and bringing all of Middle-earth under his dominion.

Prime Video also confirmed that the first four episodes of Season 3 will debut on November 11, followed by Episodes 5 and 6 on November 18, with the two-part finale arriving on November 25.
