Apple TV shifted into high gear during its first-ever Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, debuting the official trailer for Matchbox The Movie and bringing an all-star cast to the stage.

The panel featured John Cena, Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, and Teyonah Parris, who joined moderator Josh Horowitz to introduce fans to the upcoming action-adventure film inspired by Mattel's iconic toy brand.

Directed by Sam Hargrave (Extraction), Matchbox The Movie transforms the classic die-cast cars into a globe-trotting espionage adventure centered on Sean (John Cena), an undercover CIA agent who returns to his hometown and reunites with his childhood friends. Their long-awaited reunion quickly spirals into an international mission that puts the fate of the world in their hands.

Hall H attendees were treated to the world premiere of the film's first trailer, which showcased explosive practical stunts, high-speed vehicle chases, international locations, and a healthy dose of humor. While inspired by the beloved toy line, the film embraces an original story that leans into blockbuster action while celebrating friendship, teamwork, and adventure.

Throughout the panel, the cast reflected on bringing the project to life, sharing stories from the demanding production and praising Hargrave's action-driven filmmaking style.
