NOMINATED IN THE 2012 LATIN GRAMMYS® FOR BEST CONTEMPORARY TROPICAL ALBUM

MAÍA, the gifted singer from Barranquilla, Colombia, once again triumphs with her latest album INSTINTO, which is nominated in the 2012 Latin Grammys® for Best Contemporary Tropical Album.

Effortlessly straddling pop and tropical with MAÍA’s instantly recognizable voice, INSTINTO features two producers: Nacho Mañó for the pop-oriented songs with emotional lyrics; and Yasmil Marrufo, who added his expertly crafted Caribbean-tropical arrangements to the songs he produced.

Composers who contributed songs to this album include Claudia Brant, Fernando Osorio, Yasmil Marrufo, Nacho Mañó, Daniel Roa, Las Martí and MAÍA herself. The common thread among these songs is that they all reflect the feeling and artistic maturity that MAÍA communicates so expressively.

The Best Contemporary Tropical Album is a highly competitive category with many outstanding artists nominated – in addition to MAÍA, the finalists are Milly Quezada, Gaitanes, Juan Formell & Los Van Van, and Elain.

Meanwhile, MAÍA’s single "No Quererte" written by Claudia Brant, showcases all her interpretive power and has soared to the top of the charts in Colombia, becoming one of the country’s biggest hits of 2012.

The music video for “No Quererte” will premiere shortly in the United States.

The 13th annual Latin Grammy® awards take place November 15 in Las Vegas.

INSTINTO is available from iTunes USA
