After an unforgettable night of electrifying routines, highly emotional moments and glittering entertainment, Johnny Lozada, former Menudo member and current co-host of Univision’s morning show, “Despierta América” (Wake Up America) was proclaimed the fourth season winner of Univision’s hugely popular dance competition, “¡Mira Quién Baila!” (Look Who’s Dancing!).

Lozada faced off against two other finalists —Venezuelan telenovela star Marjorie de Sousa and Cuban-born telenovela heartthrob Pedro Moreno— and thanked the 1.7 million fans whose votes put him in  first place following his final performance of a phenomenal tango. A total of 3.2 million fans voted for their favorite celebrities in the grand finale, giving Lozada 53% of the votes.

Bringing viewers two hours of dazzling entertainment, the “¡Mira Quién Baila! 4” Gala Finale opened with a high-energy group number featuring celebrity judge Bianca Marroquín and the three finalists dancing to Whitney Houston’s 1980’s hit, “IWanna Dance with Somebody.” The opening excitement escalated when all of the previously ousted contestants joined in, hitting the dance floor to give audiences one last look at their best moves.

Throughout the gala show, A-list stars made special appearances to help the show’s finalists shine in their final round of competition. Hollywood film and television actress Roselyn Sánchez (“Without a Trace,” “Devious Maids”), an accomplished ballet dancer herself, performed with Johnny Lozada in the uniquely dynamic tango number that took him to the top spot, choreographed to the tango-infused Latin rock sounds of Shakira’s “Objection.” Former “Nuestra Belleza Latina” Alejandra Espinoza partnered with Pedro Moreno for a high-energy hip-hop routine set to “We Run the Night” by Havana Brown Ft. Pitbull. Dominican bachata idol Henry Santos returned to “¡Mira Quién Baila!” tonight as Marjorie de Sousa’s special partner in a hip-swinging salsa performance to Gilberto Santa Rosa’s hit, “La Agarro Bajando.” And during one of the show’s final high points, leading to the nail-biting reveal of the season winner, the final two surviving contestants battled it out in a rhythm-packed dance duel accompanied by the internationally famous merengue group, Ilegales, singing their latest chart-topper, the samba-inspired “Chucuchá.”

Three celebrities made up this season’s panel of judges: Bianca Marroquín (TV and musical theater actress), Horacio Villalobos (actor and TV host), and singer/entertainer Ninel Conde. However, the viewers at home determined who was eliminated each week and had the final say last night in electing Lozada as the winner.

The ten original contestants on “¡Mira Quién Baila! 4” each chose a non-profit organization to benefit if they won the competition. Johnny Lozada will donate his $50,000 prize to the Puerto Rican chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
