MundoFox announced that El Capo, the hit drama series about the adventures of drug lord Pedro Pablo Leon Jaramillo, has begun production of season three, making it the first Spanish-language series to return for a third season on U.S Spanish-language broadcast television.  Production of El Capo 3 is currently underway with taping scheduled for Colombia, Mexico and the United States.  The series is slated to premiere on MundoFox in early 2014.

Colombian star Marlon Moreno will reprise his role as el capo himself, “Pedro Pablo León Jaramillo.” Along with Moreno, Cristina Umaña returns as “Bruna” and Oscar Borda as “Tato,” both joined by renowned actors and newcomers to the series, Juan Alfonso Baptista (“el Gato”), Michelle Manterola and Poncho Herrera.  Season three will take viewers on Pedro Pablo’s latest global adventure, which as in the previous two seasons, promises to be loaded with action, drama and sensuality.

MundoFox launched in August 2012 with El Capo 2 in its primetime lineup, premiering to wide acclaim among U.S. Hispanic viewers. The announcement of El Capo 3, produced by Fox Telecolombia, was first made this past May during the Fox Hispanic Media 2013 upfront in New York City.
