“La Reina del Sur” Season 3 Premieres Tuesday, October 18 on Telemundo

One of the most anticipated broadcast debuts this fall, the pulse- pounding third season of the most successful and influential Super Series™ in Telemundo's history, La Reina del Sur, starring global superstar Kate del Castillo (Bad Boys for Life, Ingobernable, Maya and the Three) and renowned actor, Pêpê Rapazote (Queen of the South, Shameless), is set to premiere on Tuesday, October 18. Fans and newcomers to the International Emmy Award-winning series can expect the highest level of drama, action and adventure as the legendary Teresa Mendoza embarks on her most dangerous adventure yet, even if it means burning her fabled throne as La Reina to succeed.

Season 3 opens four years after the enthralling events of the season 2 cliffhanger when Teresa - who is living an idyllic life on a beachside hideout with her daughter– sees military forces coming after her. Teresa Mendoza is now behind bars in the U.S. for the murders of three DEA agents. Stripped of her freedom, she’s separated again from her beloved daughter, Sofia. Once freed during a dramatic jailbreak, Teresa engages in a covert network alliance, risking her life throughout Latin America as they gather for a final assault, striking out against the DEA in a way no one ever dared to imagine. The chances of survival are few. The decision to fight is absolute. Finally, Teresa can see the finish line. Should she triumph, the infamous Reina del Sur can find peace with her cherished family – and stop running at long last.

Celebrated for showcasing the rich cultures and magnificent landscapes around the world each season, “La Reina del Sur 3” ventured to five countries in South America, taking the narrative to the streets of 16 major cities in the region. Viewers will find themselves transported to such legendary sites as the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, Machu Picchu in Peru, the Teatro Colón in Argentina, and Santa Marta in Colombia, among many other spectacular locations.

Featuring a multi-national cast comprised of 20 different global nationalities, joining this season are Humberto Zurita (La Querida del Centauro, La Reina del Sur), Isabella Sierra (La Reina del Sur 2, 100 Días para Enamorarnos), Kika Edgar (La Reina del Sur 2, Mujeres Asesinas), Alejandro Calva (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero), Tiago Correa (La Reina del Sur 2, La Casa de las Flores), Eduardo Yáñez (La Reina del Sur 2, Falsa Identidad), Lincoln Palomeque (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero) Antonio Gil (La Reina del Sur 2), Emmanuel Orenday (La Reina del Sur, Señora Acero), Cuca Escribano (La Reina del Sur), Sara Vidorreta (La Reina del Sur), Agata Clares (La Reina del Sur) and Dmitry Anisimov (La Reina del Sur).

The stellar ensemble is completed by Noe Hernandez, Horacio Garcia Rojas, Ed Trucco, Carlos Valencia, Arturo Ríos, Denia Agalianou, Anderley Palomino, Fernando Solorzano and Victor Rebull, among others, with a special participation of Sofia Lama, Matias Novoa, and Beth Chamberlin.
