‘The House of the Spirits’ Brings Isabel Allende’s Iconic Novel to Prime Video
Prime Video has released the official trailer for The House of the Spirits, the first Spanish-language series adaptation of Isabel Allende’s iconic novel. The highly anticipated drama premieres April 29 with three episodes, followed by weekly releases through May 13.
Based on Allende’s internationally acclaimed book, The House of the Spirits is an eight-episode family saga that unfolds across 50 years, following three generations of women — Clara, Blanca, and Alba — as they navigate love, class divides, political unrest, and magical forces in a conservative South American country. The series blends sweeping drama with emotional intimacy, bringing one of Latin American literature’s most iconic stories to the screen in an ambitious new way.
Alfonso Herrera leads the cast as Esteban Trueba, alongside Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi as Clara at different stages of her life. The ensemble also includes Fernanda Castillo, Aline Kuppenheim, Eduard Fernández, Fernanda Urrejola, and Juan Pablo Raba.
With its mix of romance, family conflict, political tension, and magical realism, The House of the Spirits looks poised to introduce Allende’s landmark story to a whole new audience this spring.
