One of the most anticipated adaptations in science fiction finally stepped into the spotlight at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 as Graham Roland, co-creator of Apple TV's Neuromancer, took the Hall H stage to introduce the series and share why William Gibson's groundbreaking novel feels more relevant today than ever. Moments later, star Callum Turner surprised fans with a special virtual message before unveiling the first teaser and confirming the series' January 22, 2027 premiere.

During the presentation, Roland reflected on the lasting impact of Gibson's landmark 1984 novel, noting that ideas once considered pure science fiction—including cyberspace and artificial intelligence—have since become part of everyday life. He explained that those technological advances made this the perfect time to revisit the story, allowing the creative team to present Gibson's vision through a contemporary lens while honoring the source material that inspired generations of science fiction.

Roland also praised Turner's performance as Case, revealing that the actor immersed himself in the novel and embraced the complexity of a protagonist driven by survival. He described Case as both dangerous and deeply human, adding that Turner's charisma and emotional depth make him the ideal actor to lead the ten-episode series.

The teaser offered an atmospheric glimpse into Gibson's iconic cyberpunk world, showcasing neon-lit cityscapes, futuristic technology, high-stakes action, and the gritty visual style that has made Neuromancer one of the most influential works in modern science fiction. While careful not to reveal major story details, the footage established the series' distinctive tone and offered an exciting preview of the dangerous digital underworld awaiting viewers.

The series features an impressive ensemble cast led by Callum Turner and Briana Middleton, alongside Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, Clémence Poésy, Max Irons, Dane DeHaan, Emma Laird, André De Shields, Jordan Kouamé, Junia Rees, Marc Menchaca, and Isabella Pappas.

Widely regarded as one of the defining works of the cyberpunk genre, William Gibson's Neuromancer has inspired generations of storytellers across literature, film, television, and gaming. The Hall H debut offered fans an exciting first glimpse at Apple's ambitious adaptation, setting the stage for one of the platform's most anticipated series of 2027.

Neuromancer premieres globally on Apple TV on January 22, 2027.
