Finn Little & Natalie Alyn Lind Preview ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff ‘Dutton Ranch’
The Yellowstone universe is expanding once again, but Dutton Ranch isn’t simply a fresh start—it’s a continuation of the emotional scars, family tensions, and explosive drama that made the original series such a phenomenon.
Premiering May 15 on Paramount+, the new series follows Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they attempt to build a future together in Texas, far from the ghosts of Yellowstone. But as expected, peace doesn’t come easy in the Dutton world. Along for the ride is Carter, with Finn Little returning to the role that fans first met as a troubled teenager searching for stability, while Natalie Alyn Lind steps into the franchise as Oreana, a bold and unpredictable new presence who quickly becomes part of Carter’s evolving story.
During a conversation with Entertainment Affair’s Raffael Alejandro, Little reflected on what it has meant to continue Carter’s journey after first taking on the role at such a young age. While the character has matured since viewers last saw him, he hinted that Carter hasn’t exactly left all of his impulsive tendencies behind. Instead, Dutton Ranch finds him navigating adulthood with the same emotional complexity that made him such a compelling addition to Yellowstone, only now with new challenges, relationships, and far more responsibility.

For Lind, Oreana was the kind of character that immediately jumped off the page. Though she brings a wild and energetic spirit to the series, Lind described her as someone whose unpredictability is rooted in emotional depth rather than recklessness alone. Beneath the surface, Oreana carries personal struggles and a difficult upbringing that shape the choices she makes, giving the character far more nuance than first impressions might suggest.
That emotional push-and-pull extends into Oreana’s connection with Carter, which appears poised to become one of the show’s most compelling new dynamics.
The pair also opened up about the more action-heavy side of filming, including scenes involving firearms and stunt work. Little admitted some moments proved more intense than expected, particularly when filming gun sequences that packed more force than he anticipated. Lind praised the production team’s commitment to safety throughout the process, noting how seriously the crew approached every detail to make sure cast members felt protected during those physically demanding scenes.

Off camera, the chemistry between the two actors came together just as naturally. What started as playful joking quickly turned into genuine praise for the friendship they built while filming, with both describing how quickly they clicked on set. That real-life camaraderie appears to have translated directly into their performances, helping shape the energy between Carter and Oreana.
With Beth and Rip stepping into dangerous new territory, Carter entering a new phase of life, and fresh relationships adding even more emotional tension, Dutton Ranch looks ready to deliver another gripping chapter in the ever-expanding Yellowstone universe.
Dutton Ranch premieres globally on Paramount+ on May 15 with two episodes.
