Ahsoka Tano is ready to return to a galaxy far, far away.

Lucasfilm gave Star Wars fans their first look at Season 2 of Ahsoka during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, debuting the new teaser trailer while confirming that the Emmy-winning series will return January 20, 2027 exclusively on Disney+.

Series creator and Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni took the stage at the Honda Center alongside Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen and Eman Esfandi to introduce the new footage.

Season 2 once again follows Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano as the former Jedi continues her journey following the fall of the Empire and rise of the New Republic. This time, Ahsoka will be forced to confront what it truly means to be a Jedi while Grand Admiral Thrawn emerges as a growing threat to the galaxy.

After the events of Season 1 left Ahsoka and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren stranded far from home, the two will travel across a mysterious and dangerous world in search of a way back.

Meanwhile, Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger, Zeb and Chopper must contend with Thrawn and his sinister allies as they attempt to plunge the New Republic into war.

The new season reunites Dawson with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Eman Esfandi as Ezra. Ivanna Sakhno, Rory McCann and Hayden Christensen also star.

Christensen’s continued involvement should be particularly exciting for fans following Anakin Skywalker’s memorable appearances in the first season and the complicated history he shares with his former apprentice.

Filoni once again writes the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Jon Favreau and Carrie Beck. Directors for Season 2 include Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anders Engström.

With Ahsoka and Sabine still trying to find their way home and Thrawn preparing to make his move against the New Republic, the battle for the future of the galaxy is only getting started.

Ahsoka Season 2 premieres January 20, 2027 exclusively on Disney+.
